Joyce Meyer Devotional for the Day :GOD’S GOT YOUR BACK
Pastor Diane Feola
Psalms 9:9-10 (AMP) The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation). And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity].
This is a scripture we need for today, right? In these days of political unrest and economic uncertainty, God lets us know He is our refuge and high tower. High cost, destitution, and desperation are words many people could use to describe our world right now! Yet God says if we know His Name, if we lean on and put confidence in Him, He will get us through.
Are you glad our Father in Heaven is not affected by this world’s economy? He says He owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), He walks on streets paved with gold, and He tells us He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
Then, in this wonderful scripture passage, He tells us He will never forsake us when we ask by the authority of His Word and the right of our necessity. Wow! God really loves us a lot. He has given us access into His throne room to make our case heard.
So, lean on Him today. Confidently put your trust in Him. No matter what it looks like in the natural, He is your refuge and stronghold.
Confession: Today, in these times of trouble, high cost, destitution, and desperation, I lean on and confidently put my trust in God. He is my refuge and high tower. He will never forsake me.
