Joyce Meyer Devotional for the Day :JESUS CHRIST, ALWAYS THE SAME
Hebrews 13:8 (NKJV) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
As we go through life, we meet people who are different than us. We meet some who are pretty stable, and those who seem to change like the weather. But one thing that I have found throughout my years of life is that God never changes!
This verse says pretty clearly that the way Jesus was in the Bible is how He is today. He never changes! Not now, nor will He for all eternity. So my question then would be, “How was Jesus in the Bible?” This will give me an understanding of how He is today, and also how eternity is going to be.
As we read the Bible, we see that Jesus was a healer, so we can have faith and confidence that He is still a healer today. We know this because His Word states it, but we also know this because we have seen people healed in our lives. Many of us have been healed by this great Savior, Jesus Christ!
We also see from the Word of God that Jesus was a provider. He helped meet the physical needs of people as He fed them with the bread and fishes that He multiplied. He was also very generous with His money. The scripture says that Judas stole from the treasury, and when he left at the Passover, they thought he was going to help poor people. John 13:29 says, “For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus had said to him, ‘Buy those things we need for the feast,’ or that he should give something to the poor.”
So we see that Jesus was this way in these two areas, and much more! We could write books about all that He did! We can see that He is doing the same today. He is our healer, our provider, and He is our all in all! Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Confession: My Jesus is the same today as He was yesterday. Today, I can boldly declare that He is my healer and He is my provider. Jesus is my everything. I am blessed today!
