THE RIGHTEOUS ARE BOLD AS LIONS

Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV) The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Righteousness is a gift that has been given to us from God, our Heavenly Father, through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord.  No one can stand before God as righteous, unless he has received this free gift.  Righteousness gives us the ability to stand in the presence of a holy God with no sense of guilt or condemnation, not because of how good we are, but because of His free gift to us.

This verse tells us that the righteous are as bold as lions.  In Christ Jesus we are bold, because we know our place of authority.  We understand that in ourselves, we do not have boldness, but when we stand in His garment of righteousness, it is not us standing there, but Christ in us, the hope of glory.  When we stand against the attacks of the wicked one, and know who we are in Him (in Jesus), it gives us the assurance and confidence that we will be more then conquerors through Him that loves us.  What amazing confidence that should give us in our God!

When God, the Father, declared us righteous, that was no little feat.  Jesus Christ had to go to the cross and shed His divine blood for us so that we could have this righteousness.  This righteousness gives us the ability to enter into the Holy of Holies, a place that only the high priest in the Old Testament could enter, only once a year.

But because of Jesus, we can enter into this Holy place, anytime and anywhere!  Because of Jesus’ death on the cross, He took my place, and has set me IN HIM, now!  Because of what Jesus did, God now sees me like He sees His Son: holy, blameless, and accepted!

So today, BE BOLD!  Not in yourself, but in the Greater One Who lives in you. See yourself the way the Father sees you.  Do not listen to the lies of the enemy.  Let God’s Word be true, and do not worry about what anyone else says or thinks.

Confession: Today, at this very moment, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, so I am as bold as a lion.  I am bold to stand against the enemy’s temptations and trials. Today, I am more than a conqueror through Him that loves me!
