BEHOLD, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW

Revelation 21:1-5 (NKJV) Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new …”

Here we are, at the beginning of a brand new year.  This is a year with new possibilities, new hopes, and new dreams.  However, if you want this year to be your best year yet, put Jesus first.  He makes all things new!

Too many people say they are going to do this or that, and then they try to do it in their own strength.  But we need to do it in His strength.  When we say this is not about me, but it is about Christ in me, and I want to do it for my Father, than we see amazing results.

I would like to encourage you to write down some spiritual goals this year.  One of them could be reading through your Bible, or reading through the New Testament.   Maybe it could be tithing for the whole year, or supporting a missionary.  It could be praying for fifteen minutes a day.  Whatever it is, write it down and put it in a place where you will see it every day.  Do not worry if you miss a day, or do not achieve all of your goals.  If you write them down and keep them in front of you, you will achieve more than if you do not write them down.  In Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV) it says, “Then the LORD answered me and said:  ‘Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.’”

So go ahead!  Write down your goals for this year, hold on to them, and watch and see them come to pass in your life.

Confession: Today is a new start of a new year.  I am making a decision to write some goals down and to take a new step for God, my Father.  I am going to come to the end of this year having achieved more than I ever have before.
