HOLY, HOLY, HOLY

Revelation 4:8-11 (NKJV) The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Look at what is going on in heaven right now.  The elders, the living creatures, and the angels hang out around God’s throne singing and worshipping Him.  Here we do it on the earth in our church services, but there they do it right at the throne.  One of the things that they say over and over again is “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty.”

Our God is a Holy God.  All that He does is just, holy, and pure.  That is why there will be nothing that defiles.  That is why no unclean hands can ever go to heaven.  “Well,” you might be saying, “I have made so many mistakes, and I even have some sins that I committed today.  Does that mean I will not be able to go to?”  I have some good news for you, and His Name is Jesus!

You see, when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He took all of your sins away.  It is just like the song we sing: “What can wash me white as snow?  Nothing but the blood of Jesus.”  It is because of Jesus, and us partaking of His righteousness, that we will stand before God, sinless, blameless, and accepted in the Beloved.  Again, this is the Great Exchange.  Our Jesus took all of the bad, and we get all of the good.  He took our sin and shame, and He gave us His holiness.  This is why for all eternity we will join those around the throne glorifying God.

CONFESSION:  How holy is our God!   He is mighty!   Because I am in Christ Jesus, God looks at me through the blood of Jesus.   My sins are all gone, because Jesus left them at the cross.
