HE DID IT ALL FOR US

HE DID IT ALL FOR US

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NKJV) Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

The prophets of the Old Testament foretold of the One that would come into the world and give His all for us.  We see in these two verses what this One would do, and in Jesus this has all been fulfilled.  Jesus became the one and only sacrifice that is accepted by the Father.

In verse 4, we see the word “grief,” which means our sicknesses, and we also see the word “sorrows,” which means pain.  So we see that Jesus bore our sicknesses and our pain!  Praise God!

In verse 5, we see that Jesus was wounded for our “transgressions,” or our sins.  Jesus took my sins, and your sins, and nailed them to the cross, so today, I do not need to be sin-conscious, but Son-conscious.  He was also bruised for our iniquities.  Again, Jesus took all of my guilt, sin, and fault.

The chastisement of our peace was upon Him.  Because of Jesus, I can live at peace in my life.  Life does not need to be a burden.  I am at peace with God, and at peace with myself.  I can enjoy each and every day, because my Father made them for me, and He wants me to have a blessed life.

The last part says that by His stripes I was healed.  You see, Jesus cares about our physical bodies.  Yes, He took care of the spiritual part of our redemption, but He also took care of our bodies.  He took all of the pain on the cross so that every stripe that He bore was for my total redemption: spirit, soul and body.

Today, see yourself totally redeemed.  See yourself as the healed one, and the one who lives in peace.  Remember, if God is for you who can be against you?

CONFESSION:  Jesus did it all for me!  What He bore, I need not bear. Today, I proclaim that I am redeemed: spirit, soul, and body!
