IT’S THROUGH CHRIST, NOT MYSELF

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13 (MSG) Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

What an amazing promise!  What a powerful verse of scripture.  No matter what life, or circumstances, might throw at us, we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us.  You might be fighting something today in your life.  You might be in a battle that feels like you are Job, but remember, if God is for you, you can get the victory in this situation!

Many believers feel that when all these things are working against us, God must not be around, but let me tell you, He is more around than we can ever imagine.  He is the One who has promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us.  He is the One who carries us during the hardest parts of our lives.

He is the Good and Great Shepherd that takes care of us.  When a sheep is in danger or has gotten himself in a jam, the Good Shepherd does not say, “Well, you are on your own now.  You know if you would have just listened to me, you would not be in this mess.”  No.  The Good Shepherd gets out His staff and rod and fights for us, or lifts us out of our mess.

So today, do not say, “Oh well.  I have messed up again, and God is not going to help me.”  No!  Say, “Through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, my King and my all, I can do all things because He gives me strength!  He will never leave me.  He will never forsake me!  God is in this till the end of the age.  He knows me, and He knows that I will get myself in some thorns through my life, and He is right there to help me out.”

Remember to keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will get you where you need to go.  He has been there helping us even when we did not know He was there.  At times, His voice might be quiet, and we will think that we are all alone, but we are not.  The reason we know this is that He promised us that He would never let us down!

CONFESSION:  I can do all things through Christ!  I know that I cannot do all things in my own strength, so I will lean into my Shepherd’s strong arms.
