OUR CHILDREN’S PEACE

Isaiah 54:13 (NKJV) All your children shall be taught by the LORD, and great shall be the peace of your children.

When we take time to teach our children about the things of God, and that God is their personal Father, it will change them and bless them throughout their lives.  They may be our kids, but truthfully, they are God’s kids, and we get such a short time to help introduce them to their real Father.

I have found that when we talk about God in the morning during breakfast, or pray with them before they go to sleep, or even when we are on a trip and we say things like, “Wow! Look at that sunset that God, your Father, made!” or “Look at that mountain that your Father made just for you! You must be really special to Him!” it instills within them who their real Father is, and it brings such peace into their little hearts.  As they grow, their personal relationship with their heavenly Father will get dearer and dearer to them.

So take today’s verse, and also Deuteronomy 11:18-21, and be a doer of them for your family.

Deuteronomy 11:18-21 “Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 20 And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, 21 that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.”

Confession: I choose, this day, to raise my children knowing God as their personal Father.  I choose to give my children the greatest head start, which is knowing God.  Great will be their peace!
