WATCH OUT

2 John 1:8 (NIV) Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.

This scripture tells us so clearly that we are to watch out.  You might ask, “What am I to watch out for?”  Well, the devil looks for times of weakness in our lives, and tries to get us to stumble or fall.  He tried it with Jesus, and he will try it with us.  You see, when Jesus was in the wilderness being tempted by the devil, the enemy saw that He was hungry, so he came against Him with a thought of doubt.  Let us look at it:

Matthew 4:1-4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” 4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'”

You see, Jesus knew He was the Son of God, and the devil knew it, but the devil thought He was weakened, so he could try to get Jesus to believe his lie.  The devil attacked Him in the area that Jesus was fighting, and that was hunger.  But our Jesus took out His sword and spoke the Word of God, and the devil knew he could not win.

In our lives, we are going to have weak moments.  That is why when we are going through strong times, we need to feed ourselves with the Word of God, and stay strong in prayer.  When the enemy comes in, we can send him running by using the spoken Word of God, just like Jesus did.

So today, do not get into fear, because fear opens the door to the enemy.  Stay strong in faith, because faith sends the enemy running.  Get your sword as sharp as you can, and stay close to your Heavenly Father.  Keep your armor on so that when the enemy comes, he will not know if it is you or Jesus, and he will think twice about messing with you.

CONFESSION:  I keep myself spiritually fit by staying in the Word and in prayer.  I keep my armor on, and I keep my sword, which is the Word of God, sharp!
