SOW GOOD THINGS

Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

This passage shows us the principles of God from creation to today.  Whatever we sow, we reap.  It works with an earthly seed and it works in the spirit realm.  If we want good things, we need to sow good seeds.  If we want garbage, sow bad seeds.

It sounds so simple, yet doing it is the key.  In Proverbs 18:21 it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”  What are you sowing with your tongue today?  Are you an encourager, or do you always see and talk about the bad in everything?  I know this can be tough to see in ourselves, but when we are honest, it will make us better.

Today, what we need to do is pray and ask God to forgive us for yesterday.  Then we need to start a new garden in our heart.  Start a garden of praise, of loving words, of kindness, and of generosity.  Start a garden of the things that you want.  If I wanted tomatoes, I would not plant watermelon seeds; I would plant tomato seeds.  Plant what you want to reap!

Too many people say, “Whatever,” but it is not “Whatever.”  What we plant is what we will see in our lives.  What do you want growing in your garden of life?  Plant those seeds!  What you sow is what you will reap.  It sounds so simple, yet this is the law of Genesis that we will talk about tomorrow.

Remember, God is not withholding blessings from us.  We are!  We are the ones planting the seeds.  When we realize this and do it God’s way, we will see a bountiful harvest.  We will be just like a wise farmer who plants all kinds of seeds in the spring, and gets a great harvest in the fall.  So get in the Word today, find your seeds, and start planting!

Confession: Today, I am going to do it!  I going to pull out the weeds that I sowed in my life, and I am going to start planting good seeds.  I am going to plant seeds of love, faith, goodness and generosity.   I am going to plant seeds of God’s Word, and I will see a great harvest soon!
