THE NAME OF JESUS

Acts 3:1-9 (NKJV) Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. 2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. 4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, “Look at us.” 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.

Peter and John were going to the temple one day, not expecting anything special, when all of a sudden an opportunity arose.  A man that had been lame from his mother’s womb asked for some money.  Peter and John looked at him and told him something that teaches us the power of the Name of Jesus.  “Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk’” (Acts 3:6 NKJV).

The Name of Jesus is the exalted Name!  Philippians 2:10-11 says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”  What an awesome name!

The Name of Jesus had power to bring healing to this man that had been lame from birth, and faith in His Name will heal you today!  As we look in the Bible, we see that God is our healer.  Not only is He able to heal; He is willing to heal!  We can come with confidence and pray boldly, believing for total healing of whatever it is that has come against us.  I encourage you to learn about the power in the Name of Jesus, and then use it in faith!

Confession: The Name of Jesus is above every name, and every sickness has a name.  Just as Peter and John prayed in the Name of Jesus, I speak to this ________________ that has come against me and I command it to go in Jesus Name!
