THE GREATER ONE

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

Today, let us continue with John 10:10.  The next part that Jesus went on to say is that the thief also comes “to destroy.”  The word “destroy” is from the Greek word apollumi, meaning to destroy.  It carries the idea of something that is ruined, wasted, trashed, devastated, and destroyed.

By using this word, we discover that if the thief is unsuccessful in his attempts to steal from us, or to convince us to sacrifice what we hold dear, he will then try to ruin it!

The devil has one plan for us, and that is to totally destroy us.  However, we know better, or we can say it like this: “We have inside information.”  My Bible says in Romans 8:31, “What then shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?”  God, the Creator of all things, is for us.  He is the Almighty God, and when we pray and give God free access into our lives, the devil does not have a chance!

You see, God gave us a free will to choose his ways or not.  When I say, “God, I give you my life.  Go ahead and do all that needs to be done,” then look out devil and demons!  You do not have a chance!  The Greater One is living inside of me.  Think about that today.  The Greater One is living inside of us!  It does not get better than that!

So today, do not look at your weaknesses; look at His strength.  Do not look at your shortcomings; look to Him who has no shortcomings.  Do not look to your sicknesses; look to His health.  He is the Greater One, and He resides within you.  1 John 4:4 says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”  This is the victory of the cross!

Confession: Today, I do not look to myself, but I look to the Greater One who lives in me.  When the enemy comes in like a flood to try and destroy my life, the Greater One always gets me through.  My Father is for me and not against me.  He is totally for me!
