MY HELP IS IN GOD

Psalm 121:1-8 (NKJV) I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. 4 Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

What an amazing Psalm of protection!  Our God is our help; He is our protector.  Our God never sleeps, and in this mixed up world, I am so grateful for His protection.  It seems like every day that we open the paper or read the news, there is some sort of disaster in our world.  It could be a natural disaster like a hurricane, or a record storm of some sort, or it could be the murders that we hear about, where violent people are becoming more violent.

But this verse, and so many more, tell us that our God is a protector to those who call upon Him.  This is a verse that we should speak over ourselves, and our families, daily.  We need to declare and decree what the Lord has stated that He has done for us.  Again, many people just sit around and never use their sword of the Spirit to defeat the devil.  Remember what our offensive weapon is that God has given us: His Word is our sword.

When Jesus was being tempted by the devil, He did not just say, “Whatever, Mr. Devil.”  No, not our Jesus!  He took His sharp sword and defeated the enemy with the spoken Word of God.  So today, do not just sit there.  Sharpen your sword, and speak His Word against the enemy, and watch Him run in terror.  Jesus said we could, so I believe that we can!

CONFESSION: My help comes from the Lord.  My Father has given me His Word to use as a two-edged sword, and I will use it against the enemy.  The Greater One lives in me, and there is no way that I can lose.
